You would not believe the day I had yesterday…
First I got a strange call from the bank saying I needed to contact a representative because they had been trying to get a hold of me. WTF??? So I called and spoke with my representative for a loan I am paying and she said she had no record of our last discussion that took place two weeks ago. In that discussion, we had come up with a reasonable payoff plan for my loan which I was prepared to follow through with and was only waiting for my first bill.
She never entered this information into their system, so now I was getting late charges on my previous balance, ahhhhh! After a half an hour we got it all straightened out Her excuse was that she speaks to hundreds of people a day and could not remember my case - are you kidding me??? What kind of an operation is this (I won’t name names, COUGH Bank of America COUGH COUGH).
Then, I spoke with my old landlord. As you know, I have recently moved. When moving, your prior landlord is responsible for giving back your deposit within 20 days of your move out date - with interest. Well it’s been almost 2 months and still no check. I spoke with him and he said he sent it weeks ago. I don’t know if it’s the mailman or my old landlord, but I never got it. I ended up having to drive to my landlord’s office to pick up a new check.
Then I called my agent because I had yet to receive payment from the last scene I did in LA - and as I am leaving for Europe for a week this Monday, that money would be nice to have. So My agent found out where it was and personally deposited it for me miles away from his house. He’s a very nice guy.
After all this money drama, I went to work and it started out as a quiet night. But that soon changed. A middle aged couple came in and sat at the bar and ordered some food and a glass of wine. I got them their order and gave them a couple of waters as well. It looked like they had been out wine tasting and could use it lol.
They proceeded to make a huge mess on the bar top with their food, and every time I went near to check on them they were making out. Finally the man went to the restroom and the woman asked for the check.
We put our checks in shot glasses so when the man came back, he thought she had had a shot and proceeded to yell at her. Then they asked for another glass of wine to which I said no as they seemed too intoxicated already. They then asked if they were good to leave, and I said they still needed to pay the check. So they paid and I offered them a cab several times - but they said no. There was nothing I could do.
As they got up to leave, I reminded the woman that she had left her shopping bag - and she turned around and proceeded to yell at me and say I gave the worst service, didn’t care about her and only cared about the other bar patrons that I knew and was talking with (kinda hard to talk to people when there sucking face). I told her I was sorry she felt that way. She said she would never be back to which I didn’t respond.
However, moments later she came back to give me more. She started again, making a scene telling me I was “a stuck up asshole”, and then made it personal by calling me gay and saying I thought I was “the shit and could care less” about her. She said she was going to tell my boss how awful I was to which I replied, ‘Good grab a card on your way out and give her a call, I’m sure she’d love to hear from you’.
After which I told her she could complain about my service all she wants but don’t make it personal and attack my character. I tried to be as nice as possible to a couple of drunks. She just kept going even after I told her she was no longer welcome and needed to leave. I looked at her husband during this whole ordeal and he said and did nothing.
The funny thing is he tipped me 50% of their bill!!! - which leads me to believe he knew she might do something stupid and he felt sorry for me.
After a good 5 minutes of her yelling at me and me telling her to leave I called the cops on her. She then proceeded to scurry away.
What a day huh? All I can do is laugh about it now. Hope today is less crazy and that I don’t have to deal with so many stupid people. I also hope you all had a better day
